Booklet Design

The design of your booklet can affect its attractiveness, readability and the understanding of its content. Its purpose should be carefully considered when designing. For instance an Annual Report is generally about a companies past year’s performance with lots of financial data, a Catalogue is typically to provide information (and sometimes prices) about products. There are many other types of booklets too – Magazines, Newsletters, Manuals, etc.

Professional design will help make all your marketing more effective, so if you want your booklet to be effective and attract attention then we recommend you have it professionally designed.

Frequently Asked Questions
--Invisible--
How much will do booklets cost?

Like most things, the cost will depend on a range of options. I recommend you call now to discuss all the options you have. We’ll guide you through the process and help you choose what is most suitable for you and then provide a quote.

How important is the design?

Most people (including many print companies) underestimate the value of the design and with the rise in DIY programs, many think it’s little more than a simple word processing task. It’s true that these programs provide the ability to save on design costs. However, it’s important to recognise what a difference qualified and experienced graphic designers can make to your project. They understand the impact of design hierarchy, the use of white space, the effect of different colours and how it can all impact the outcome you’re looking for. They also understand colour spaces like RGB and CMYK, low & high-resolution images and of course preparing the file for print.

The Design of the front cover is one of the most important aspects to be considered. Even if you can supply the finished design for your booklet, we recommend having the cover professionally designed.

What advice and guidance do you provide?

Regardless of the type of booklet (or other items), you’re having produced, the team at Graphics Unlimited are here to advise and guide you every step of the way. From explaining and helping you chose the options that are right for you, to explaining the processes involved (if you want to know). We’ll even help with suggesting content to help the retention of your booklets.

What types of binding are available?

There are a number of different binding methods available including saddle stitching, perfect binding, spiral binding, wiro binding and comb binding. Each method has specific applications and there are often variations within each of the methods. We’ll explain the differences and help you chose the most appropriate method for your booklet.

Can I provide my own design files?

Yes, of course, however, there may be additional charges if the files are not provided in the correct format or contain errors and our ability to make last-minute changes may be limited.

Are there any guarantees?

Yes, everything we do is guaranteed in one way or another. Obviously, we cannot guarantee how much extra business you will get because there are too many variables that are outside our control, however, we guarantee the quality of the finished products we produce and will reprint or refund (at our discretion) in the rare event that the finished product is not up to our very high standards.

Can I provide my own design files?

Yes, of course, however, the results we achieve are based on specific criteria in the design, the copy, the printing, and the distribution of your marketing material. If you remove one of the critical components you may not achieve the same results.

Do you outsource your work overseas?

Graphics Unlimited is proudly Australian owned and operated. All our products and services are produced in Australia with our factory in Thomastown, Melbourne. There are some components, like paper for instance, that is sourced from other Australian companies but is imported from overseas.
